Galerie Itinerrance is honored to welcome back the acclaimed American street artist Shepard Fairey, also known as Obey, with his latest solo exhibition, “Swan Song”, located in Paris’s 13th arrondissement. Originally scheduled to run from June 20 to July 26, 2024, the exhibition has been extended through Saturday, October 12, 2024, due to its significant success.
Known for its vibrant street art scene, the 13th arrondissement of Paris has long served as a creative hub for many artists. Galerie Itinerrance, a leading contemporary art space dedicated to urban art, continues its collaboration with the city’s Boulevard Paris 13 project, presenting Fairey’s newest body of work.
This exhibition marks Shepard Fairey’s third solo presentation at Galerie Itinerrance, reflecting a longstanding relationship that began in 2016 with the “Earth Crisis” exhibition, focused on environmental issues. In 2019, Fairey returned with “Facing The Giant: 3 Decades of Dissent,” a retrospective survey of his politically engaged practice.
“Swan Song” features a series of paintings, monoprints, and screenprints that engage with pressing contemporary issues. In a statement released by the gallery, Fairey describes the exhibition as a response to the multiple threats confronting society today. He emphasizes that his work aims to inspire collective action through art rather than serve as a mere lament for a shared crisis.
